Kara Dioguardi of course is the newest American Idol judge, soon to be one of the most famous women in America. She’s an accomplished pop and dance songwriter and her songs are on albums that have sold more than 100 million copies. It will be interesting to see what kind of judge she will be, and just how she will fit in with the other American Idol judges. One things for sure though, she’s not too hard on the eyes. I think Dioguardi is pretty attractive, kind of curious as to why she never made a go of performing. I had the impression most songwriters didn’t have the right look to sing their own stuff, but it doesn’t seem like she would have had that problem.

Kara Dioguardi won the BMI Cable Award for writing and performing the theme to the Lifetime Television series For the People, and then she won the BMI pop songwriter’s award for the year 2006, which is what I believe this picture is from.

Britney Spears will receive LOGO’s Always Next, Forever Now Award in a ceremony in Los Angeles next month.

The gay and lesbian-themed network will honor pop culture pioneer making incredible strides during the second annual NewNowNext Awards, premiering on LOGO and simultaneously streaming on LOGOonline.com on Saturday, June 13 at 9 PM ET/PT.

Given annually, the Always Next, Forever Now Award award pays homage to icons in the GBLT community.

This year’s festivities will be hosted by RuPaul.

Here’s a promotional of Britney Spears on the set of How I Met Your Mother. Brit will reprise her role as Abby, the receptionist who teams up with Barney to get back at Ted. The pop tart will make her second appearance on the CBS sitcom next Monday night, May 12th, at 8:30 pm.

We don’t think Miley Cyrus likes us very much…..The 16-year-old Disney star has blasted “trash” websites that make a career of reporting the intricate details of her private life.

Speaking at the UK press conference for Hannah Montana: The Movie, Miley said that she wished “for gossip sites to go away.”

“I think they’re so hard, not only on the celebrities but the kids as well [reading it],” she commented. Miley takes issue with websites that focus on

celebrities’ weight, insisting they have a bad influence on young readers. “They’re starting to see people… I mean, I am normal, if I was any smaller I would be too skinny, if I was any bigger I’d be too fat. “

She added, “There’s never perfect. If they see that, or me on the red carpet and think, ‘That’s what I’m supposed to look like’. I think it all gets people mixed up. I think it’s all kind of trash.”

Miley Cyrus has officially made her childhood nickname her legal moniker. The fifteen year old Hannah Montana, born Destiny Hope Cyrus, is now Miley Ray Cyrus.

Miley tells Entertainment Tonight that she was called “Smiley,” which transformed into “Miley,” by family and friends, so she wanted the now infamous name to be her legal one. She selected “Ray” as her middle name because she wanted the same one as her country singing pop, Billy Ray Cyrus.

When she turned six, she underwent vocal training and lessons and, by the time she was nine, she participated in her very first amateur singing competition and won the first prize, belting out Jennifer Holliday’s “And I Am Telling You,” in spite of being the youngest contender.

She became a veteran of singing competitions and has consistently won several contests. Her television debut on “Eat Bulaga!,” a hit noon-time variety show, happened when she was just eleven. She competed in the show’s contest “Birit Baby” where young aspirants belt out vocally challenging songs. She ended up receiving the runner-up award but was highly praised for her take on a Céline Dion classic, “All By Myself”.

In 2003, along with a thousand hopefuls, Rachelle auditioned for the second season of the Philippines’ leading talent search, Search for a Star. Rachelle breezed through the preliminary rounds and found herself among the top twelve contenders vying for the coveted recording prize during the finale. On March 13, 2004 Rachelle was announced as the second grand champion, following Sarah Geronimo, singing her rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Through the Rain”.

Several weeks from winning, she collaborated with Philippine rap group Salbakuta for a cover of the Laura Branigan 1980s hit Gloria; she then released it as a CD single.

In July 2004, Rachelle released her self-titled debut album with the singles “Love Of My Life” and a remake of “Don’t Cry Out Loud”. It also includes her own cover version of Selena’s “Dreaming of You”. She was then part of the Night Of The Champions U.S. Tour opposite Sarah Geronimo and Erik Santos. She then released a duet with Christian Bautista entitled “You And Me (We Wanted It All)”. She is also a talent of VIVA Entertainment Group and is part of ABS-CBN, The Kapamilya Network’. She was involved in variety shows such as ASAP and ASAP Fanatic.

Rachelle created a big buzz when she underwent plastic surgery for her I Care album. Rachelle’s win has thrusted her into the life of a public persona almost instantly. She has been strongly chastised by critics for her inability to make a name for herself. Aileen Quimapo Iwamoto, better known by her screen name Iwa Moto, is a Filipina actress of Japanese descent.

She got her biggest break when she played Rita on Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap which was played before by the award winning actress Amy Austria in the original film.

Iwa was born on August 29, 1988 in Las Piñas City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Her Japanese father left the family then went back to his native Japan when Iwa was still very young. Dapat kung hanggang kelan nyo mahal yung trabaho nyo. Hanggang gusto nyo pa yung trabaho nyo at ginagawa ninyo.” I realized tama nga sya. Mahirap nga naman gawin yung isang bagay na hindi mo na gusto.

Camille Prats (born June 20, 1985) is the second child of Daniel Rafael Prats and the former Alma Quiambao and is also the niece of former actress Mia Prats. She has a sister and three brothers, one of whom is actor John Prats.

Camille Prats’ first foray into show business came in 1990 when she was a contestant in “Little Miss Philippines”, a popular segment of the variety show Eat Bulaga. This led to her regular appearances in ABS-CBN’s children’s program Ang TV.

Her traditional Filipino upbringing in Sydney has turned her into a responsible young lass, a devout follower of the Seventh Day Baptist Church, in fact. “My strongest weapon is the Bible, which I had been taught to read as a child. We go to church on Saturdays and our Sabbath is from Friday to the sunset of Saturday. I have a strong relationship with God and I talk to Him always.”

I’m not a star!

Things weren’t as easy at first. She did a frightening amount of VTR tests, with not-so-encouraging results. She wasn’t getting hired, and it got to a point when she took the rejections personally, ‘What’s wrong with me?’

But thanks to the now defunct, GameChannel. Iya got her break being a Game Jock interacting with the players of the show. Few commercials followed and she was hired to play the role of ‘Sydney’ in GMA 7’s youth oriented show, Click.

Despite the attention and hellers, Iya doesn’t consider herself a star yet. “There’s so much competition, so many people better than me. I’m not the best. I’d like to think I’m still trying. Like, I’m still doing all those VTRs.”

About the accent.

Her accent isn’t something she’s conscious of. She said that, it’s the people around her who make her conscious. Iya speaks with an unapologetic Aussie accent and manages to make vowel endings sound like ‘er,’ or even ‘ewr.’ But she’s not about to drop any of that anytime soon. “My accent is part of me. Although I have been criticized for having a foreign accent, I’m not about to lose it. People just have to accept me for what I am.”

Singing Career

Due to numerous offerings and school loads, Villania’s singing career, her main reason for coming in the Philippines, had to take a backseat. In spite of this, she still was given the opportunity to demonstrate her talent on many occasions. In 2003, she front-acted for the American pop rock band Hanson. In 2005, she had a singing duet with Ogie Alcasid in his Valentine concert. Beside singing for most of her part in Footloose The Musical, she recorded “Almost Paradise” with Jay-R which became the carrier song for the musical’s album release. Career

Heart Evangelista was first discovered by a commercial agent while at a mall with her sister. She signed up with Star Magic (formerly known as Talent Center) and was paired with John Prats on the show G-Mik. Her team-up with John Prats gained tremendous popularity, and they starred in several movies together— Trip, Ang Tanging Ina and My First Romance. They also starred on another teen-oriented show, Berks.

Heart Evangelista was paired with Geoff Eigenmann on the primetime soap opera Hiram which also starred Kris Aquino, Dina Bonnevie, John Estrada and Anne Curtis. She earned her a Star Awards Best Actress nomination on this series.

She later starred on the fantasy-action TV show Panday.

Heart Evangelista played the title role in “Ay Ayeng,” a film on the indigenous Ifugao life in Mountain Province, which premiered in Hawaii, on July 14, 2008. The movie was adapted from “Maestra Ester,” a novel by Abdon Noviza and Lica Lazaro.
